Really popular nude hotspot just outside Copenhagen. The Danes are among the most liberated, non-shy culture on the planet.
Bellevue Beach is pretty much the go-to nude beach around Copenhagen, buzzing with a super diverse crowd, especially popular with the LGBTQ+ folks. If you’re picturing a quiet, hidden-away kind of place, this might not hit the mark. But, the awesome vibes and friendly people make it a spot you don’t want to miss. It’s got this cool mix of old-school design thanks to Arne Jacobsen and a modern, fun-loving atmosphere. Sure, it’s popular, so you’ll be sharing the beach with a bunch of others, nudies and non-nudies alike. If you’re up for a lively day at the beach and don’t mind a short trip from the city, Bellevue’s nude section is totally worth it. Just a heads up, it can get a bit crowded and breezy, so a little chill goes a long way!
Flyers from a naturist association are appearing on notice boards all over the University of Copenhagen. But is skinny dipping something for students? Our reporter investigated … in the nude
Denmark has no laws prohibiting nudity. As well as the naked communal showers before swimming, you will find winter bathers taking a dip in the nude, because a freezing wet costume is uncomfortable. Sunbathers often take their tops off, there are the famous naked runs at Roskilde Festival and Aarhus University and at school, pupils often shower naked after sport, in same-sex changing rooms.
Nobody’s confusing Denmark with a world-class beach destination, but during the warm summer months the crowd on this nude beach would rival any you’d find along the Riviera. It’s a young, attractive group of folks who come to this spot about seven miles from downtown Copenhagen, where half the beach is topless, and the other half is fully nude. Because the crowd’s young, it can get a little rowdier than other clothing-optional beaches. But if you can handle that, it’s one of the best parties in Denmark.
