One of France’s leading fencers, Ysaora Thibus, has announced that she will be able to compete at the Paris Olympics, avoiding disciplinary action by the International Fencing Federation in a case of an abnormal drug test. The 32-year-old Guadeloupean native was suspended in February.

Ysaora Thibus began fencing at the age of 7 and quickly showed outstanding ability. In 2008, she won her first medal at the European Junior Championships, and by 2011 she was already competing at the adult level, representing France in international competitions.
In addition to her Olympic successes, Ysaora Thibus has many medals from world and European championships. In 2022, she reached the peak of her career by becoming the world foil fencing champion.
